I'm so excited to say that my sister is going to have a baby and I get to make lots of stuff for him or her. We don't know if baby will be a boy or girl just yet, but that hasn't stopped me. She is going with the jungle babies theme and I love it. So far everything we have found is as cute as can be. I found a lot of the Patty Reed fabric in jungle babies at Joann's and Hancock's. So she is getting a crib set in third generation of jungle babies, I have the comforter made with a backing of monkeys swinging along. The crib sheet will the same monkeys as the back of the comforter. I'll have pictures up soon and am just too excited to contain it.
I wrote the top half of this post weeks ago, just thought I would mention it.
She is having a girl, so I have added pink to the collection. I do have a patty reed jungle collection blanket for sale. It is the 2nd generation design with swinging monkeys in blue as the backing.
Here is one of my fabric choices for the sheet set to go with her crib set. I love the print with the giraffes hidden in it. Will post the picture as soon as I can get it off my phone.

Luggage tags for under 5 dollars a set!
This post has been sitting as a draft for too long!
It was a great flight and my kids did wonderfully on the plane. It was their first time flying and the people in the rows with us were very impressed. I just want to give an update to my tags for luggage post. The tags stayed on the bags and made it easier to find in a sea of red suitcases. If you are traveling anytime soon, I recommend making a set of your own tags. The pattern is very easy just cutout the shape and size you want or need in fabric and thin cardboard. The cardboard helps maintain the shape and if you want to fold the tag in half to cover your info. The following is brief instructions on assembling the tag.
1. Cutout 2 layers of fabric and 1 thin cardboard (cut it out smaller then the fabric) in any shape you like- rectangle, circle, square or triangle. I made mine at least 3inches long for rectangle and 3 inches in diameter for the circle.
2. Place cardboard between the two layers of fabric (pattern sides facing out) and zigzag stitch around the edges to secure all 3 layers. Use cardboard from soda or food boxes, its thin enough for your needle to go through and not break off.
3. Cut out a piece of paper to the desired size and sew or glue onto to fabric.
4. Fill in desired information and cover with clear packing tape to protect from rain or snow.
For those who don't have a fabric stash, the fat quarters from Wal Mart make 2-4 tags depending on your desired size. I only needed 6 tags so I'm not sure on the exact amount from the fat quarter. I also had some fabric laying around that I used.
Update, see my post on Tags for Luggage for pictures. :)

A pretty girl gets a pretty dress
While in Michigan with my family, I decided to make a dress for my niece. So I went looking for a pattern. And after sereaching for a couple of days I found a cute one, which has a quiltted front with a wide skirt. It's a really cute idea I just didn't have enough fabric to complete the design. So I changed the elements and it became a bib dress. The top is made up of two fat quaters and the skirt is white muslin. The dress is 100% cotton and is just right for summer. The buttons match the purple flower base of the bodice. I choose to make it a tank top and used bais tape to finish off the armcyles.
